Fresh from the pastures of Aso, Kumamoto, try "Akaushi Wagyu Beef" in a rice bowl dish!
Mount Aso is the symbol of Kumamoto Prefecture. At the foot of the mountain Aso City’s Uchinomaki Onsen hot spring resort is located. The resort is well known for its cuisine and the Imakin Shokudo restaurant is so popular, there is a line out the door every day!
The restaurant's most popular menu item is the "Akaushi Beef Bowl." This dish includes beef grilled in a sweet and spicy soy sauce served on rice with an "onsen tamago" (hot spa egg) in the center. You can enjoy it just with the egg or with "Akaushi beef miso" or wasabi, to your taste. Akaushi beef miso is a very popular must-try specialty.

Hi, I'm Tom, and I live in Kure City, Hiroshima Prefecture.
Kure is famous for its oysters, and the oyster season here is from November to February!
So now, oyster menus are appearing at local Hiroshima-yaki restaurants! Hiroshima-yaki is a type of okonomiyaki in which yakisoba and other ingredients are mixed and grilled.

I tried oysters as an ingredient. The Hiroshima-yaki cooked on the hot plate in front of me was so good! I really enjoyed the taste of the oysters. Please come and try!

This dish is made by seasoning beef ribs and lots of onions with a sweet and spicy soy sauce-based sauce, then grilling it on a hot plate. It goes well with white rice!
Towada City is blessed with Japan’s signature natural beauties, Towada Lake and the Oirase-gawa River.

At the southern tip of Aichi Prefecture on the picturesque Atsumi Peninsula is Tahara, a rural city surrounded by bright blue ocean and known for its natural beauty. This fertile region offers fresh mountain produce and rich seafood for you to try even in wintertime.

At this time of year, seafood is especially plentiful in Tahara.
Exciting auctions at the fish market are very entertaining to watch up close.
There are also Japanese-style inns and restaurants nearby where you can enjoy fish and shellfish freshly landed at the port! When it comes to seafood, “freshness” really determines the quality of the taste.

January to March is the season for Tahara’s Canola Flower Festival and strawberry picking.
